Malay Activity Executive Committee (MAEC)

The Tampines Central MAEC was formed at the CC in 1997 to encourage Malay participation in community and national affairs by organizing cultural, educational, social, sports and recreational activities. It promotes Malay culture to non-Malays and also multi-racial participation in MAECs' activities.

On 12th September 2004, residents of Tampines Central warmly welcomed His Excellency President S R Nathan. It is our President's inaugural visit to Tampines Central Park to attend the MUIS President's Challenge Family Day Carnival, which marked the end of months of hard work by 2,000 volunteers who raised more than $200,000 for the less privileged.

In conjunction with the event, MP Sin Boon Ann, unveiled the Peace One Day tableau and a one minute silence was observed by all present as they reflected on recent terrorist attacks.

This joint commitment to world peace and global unity was initiated by Darul Ghufran Mosque together with six other organizations, namely, the NorthEast CDC, Tampines Central GROs, Singapore Soka Association, City Harvest Church, AIN Society and the Tampines Town Council.
